Vault wrong library folder checkin

Hello all!

We just encountered a problem with Vault and we cant find out what is going wrong.

Our library for the content center parts is default "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files\en-US"

As we cant switch to 2020 for some projects (the project doenst allow us to) we have to devide our library in a 2019 and 2020 version.

So we kept "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files\en-US" as our 2019 library and made "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files 2020\en-US" our new library for vault.

Our project file is based on default settings, so it uses the filepaths of the options per version.

Here we have set all the content center paths to 2020 folders for inventor 2020.

The weird thing is... when we check in a content center 2020 part like a bolt it wants to check in at a different folder "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files\en-US".... after checking in and opening the iProperties of the bolt it says it is in the "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files 2020\en-US" folder, and we can find it there too...

We cant figure out why Vault wants to check-in the file in another folder than its physically in...

Just found out that it also checks out at "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files\en-US" while the physically path of the bolt is "....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files 2020\en-US"...

Does someone has a clue whats going wrong?

Kind regards,

Peter Ensing

Our keyuser dragged/copied the bolt into the 2020 vault folder and I did a check-out.

After I tried to check it in this happened:

The problem lies in the mapping of the project file. In your current project file Content Center Files is mapped to ....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files\en-US. You need to create another project file with Content Center Files mapped to ....\Library\Inventor\Content Center Files 2020\en-US

In your working folder create a copy of your project file. Remove the Read-Only flag on the file. Open it in Inventor and change the mapping on the Vault Ribbon, Access tab dropdown. Check in the new project file in vault and use it for v2020.

thanks for your reply!

For what I understand it cant be the projectfile cause it searches for the file path in the options.

When you hoover over it you can see the actual path its looking at.

Inventor 2019 (our "old" default folder):

What you're showing is the folder in your workspace where your cc-files are stored. The folder in the vault itself where they are stored is determined by the mapping. It's done from the Vault ribbon in Inventor:
