Vault user defined property not getting updated properly

 Dear All,

Please look at this issue, if u can help,

In vault user defined properties are not refreshing properly, Which means properties are assign to the categories, Every category it has some different properties than others, when I’m changing one to another category it should take new properties, Yes its taking but not as new property, new properties adding with old property, So user defined property not working correctly.

Want to understand why it’s not happening ?

Example with print screen : 1). Uploading the document in to vault it goes as Undefined - refer the attachment ( Pro1)                                                        2). Changing the category Undefined to General - refer the attachment ( Pro2)

                                                       3). Revert back the category General to Undefined - refer the attachment ( Pro3)

It looks like the system is recognizing that your data is out of sync.  If you look at your pictures, you will that the last icon has a red dot on it.  That is let you know that the properties are out of sync.  If you select the file and go to "Actions" -> "Synchronize Properties" it should update accordingly.  The reason why it is happening is that we wanted to avoid creating extra versions of the file and performance.  For example the steps you called out would have 5 or 6 versions of the file {the initial upload, file property update, change category, file property update, revert back, file property update(?)}.

What is the value in the compliance field after you did the synchronize properties?

If the property sync operation is not making the file compliant, it makes me think that something isn't mapped properly because it is not being updated properly.  When you select the file that is not compliant... can you bring up the properties tab and see which property is non-compliant?

Hi,

I must subscribe also to this topic ... For dwg. files we have two categories Enginering drawing and Inquiry drawing.

I have I custom property Inquiry Number that I use for dwg. files only for Inquiries. In Engineering drawings this property is not used (present in the drawing ). When changing betwen categories ... in the User defined list the Inquiry Number remains in the list (this is the same as presented initialy here). Could someone point us to the right solution... please!

I use Autodesk Vault Pro 2016.
