Vault Pro 2017 client Uninstall fail

Hi.

I installed Inventor 2017. Works, gets a License from our license pool.

I installed Vault 2017 pro. Works, starts, and log in to server is okay. I modify my installation to remove some components i forgot to remove from deployment (job processor etc).

After restart i can't start Vault without a crash. Okay, i try to re-install. Autodesk uninstall tool says it is finished but the Vault installation remains in the list.

I try to uninstall from windows standard "uninstall a program". Once again vault says it is successful but all program files, start menu etc remains.

Okay, i try to uninstall everything including inventor design suite and all autodesk software from computer. Vault still won't uninstall BUT it will start.

Now it will not log in to vault server but i recieve "Failure to aquire license, please restart the product".

I've tried the hotfixes, i've tried repair, reinstall, remove.

Last step was that I tried removing all folders, regedit remains, temp folders etc but i still cant uninstall/install Vault properly.

After removing about everything related to Autodesk from my computer. If i run my Vault installation it will simply skip Vault because it now thinks it is installed.

If i run the Vault pro msi by itself, it will install Vault again, but the "Failed to aquire license" remains.

What is the best way to remove all, and i mean ALL previous data related to autodesk from this computer so i can start over?

I've done this: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/remove-windows-prod...

and now i've run out of ideas.

Thanks

/J

If i remove all Vault folders, and the regedit entries from autodesk, I still get this information when i try to install Vault "fresh".

So i can't really uninstall it. I can't really Install it. Stuck in limbo.

If i install it using the VaultPro msi, the program will install, but it will not uninstall properly.

Hi, @Anonymous

Sorry to hear about the issue.

As you already tired to uninstall it Through the Control Panel (Windows), I'd like to advice you try the tool - Fixit.

Using Microsoft FixIt (Windows)

Use Microsoft FixIt if you can't uninstall through the Control Panel or unwanted program files remain after you try to uninstall. Unwanted remaining files can prevent you from reinstalling.

  1. Download Microsoft FixIt.
  2. Click Run Now and follow the on-screen prompts.

If this way also failed, I will try to delete all information about Vault 2017 pro, this may has some risk as I need delete the register .

First delete all Vault Pro 2017 related folder.

start - run - regedit - Backup the register,  then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

delete the following

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{CF526A26-2264-0003-0000-02E95019B628}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Autodesk Vault Professional 2017 (Client)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Autodesk Vault Professional 2017 (Client)_2017.0.2

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Autodesk Vault Professional 2017 (Client)_2017.0.3

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Autodesk Vault Professional 2017 (Client)_R22SP1

and try reinstall again.
