VAULT PLOT MAJOR ERROR

Pic below shows the same drawing file opened different ways.

In foreground is result of Vault Plot and shows the WRONG drawing number! Views in the background show the native IDW in Inventor, the Vault created DWF and the Vault created PDF, each with the correct Drawing Number.

I have also shown the Vault Plot settings to show I’m not using the visualisation file for the plot (vis file is correct anyway). Very confused!

Is the property in drawing something that was changed in Vault by using the Edit Property command?

Try opening the drawing in Inventor using Defer mode.

Also, try creating the DWF file and plotting from the DWF to see if that property is as you expected.

IDWs work in a different way when it comes to updating the block inside of the drawing. While Vault can edit the drawing's property that effects this value, the actual drawing block is not saved or updated until it is opened completely inside of Inventor. The reason for the Defer mode try also is that I noticed, in your image, the asterisk next t the IDW in the Model browser which indicates the IDW has been updated.

Hi Irvin, and thanks for chiming in.

Yes, some entries in the Rev Block get edited in Vault, the file then opened and updated (vault tab, Update properties) and then checked into Vault and released. See the history below. However the drawing number is not 1 of those that gets edited.

The asterisk (dirty/modified) is ALWAYS there for released IDW's. I've had this problem for around 6 years now and am continuing to work with my reseller on a solution. This occurs on EVERY IDW when lifecycle state changes from Work In progress or For Review to Approved For Manufacture. It's not until the administrator opens the file, checks it out and in that the asterisk goes away. We've just become familiar to saying NO at the continual prompt 🙂

I thought that this was an issue with my database which had been migrated and updated over 10 odd years, but this is a completely new database at a new company and a new server that's only been up for 6 months! It's something in Vault, Inventor or the job processor or ??? that is causing this. Each and every IDW is marked as Rebuild in the diagnostics screen until the Administrator deals with it.

After the administrator does the above and the vault Plot is again run, the original error is now fixed.

Reseller is calling today to discuss both of these issues.
