Vault - part Preview

Hi everybody,

 

I have some iLogic Assemblys

After i configure the assembly, save and check in to Vault the Preview "photo" of the part is not updating, only if I open the part alone and save it.

Can this be fix?

This is the part "Preview

I use Inventor 2016 and Vault 2016

Vault will pull the Thumbnail image that is embedded in the file. It sounds like the iLogic is making the changes without being in graphics mode and therefore the embedded thumbnail is not updated until you open the file again.

This has to be fixed in your iLogic inside of Inventor.

I have had someone look into this and they state that they are unable to reproduce this in Inventor 2017 or later.

@Cosmin_V , here's a workaround for Inventor 2016. This works by automatically opening all the modified files in their own window. Then when you save, the thumbnails will be up to date. To make this work, set the attached rule EnsureThumbnails.txt to run on the Before Save Document event (with the Event Triggers command). 
This might open a lot of windows. To automatically close all of them, run the attached rule CloseAllOtherFiles.txt. But if you're making several changes in the assembly, it's more efficient to leave the windows up until you're done.
