Vault mobile on ipad - PDF checkin

Hi Guys,

I have just setup vault mobile on an ipad. I also have a lifecycle setup to change the approved PDF to a Markup state that creates a new version. In the mobile app I can change the state and check it out, add markups but cannot check it back in. It works well on a PC because the PDF is downloaded to the vault workspace and I can check it back in. ON the ipad I don't have checkin, I therefore try to add it back into vault but get an error 1008 a file with the same name already exists. Enforce unique file name is unticked. If I saveas with a different filename it will add it to vault or if I save it into a different folder.

Any ideas on how to force it to overwrite the checked out version?

or is my workflow incorrect ?

what workflow do you use for marking up PDF's with vault mobile?

Thanks

Tony

Hi @Tony_Yates ,

After checkout and adding a markup in the pdf file - you have the iOS 'Share' icon - 'Vault' is one of the option in the option list for 'Share'.

This is the option to check in the 'Checkedout and modified Pdf file' to Vault.

Hi Yogeshwar,

Yes that is what I was using to try and check back in, but it gives me the error 1008 a file with the same name already exists.

Hi @Tony_Yates ,

Please see my video below - are you using same workflow to check in back ?

If you dont use this checkin way but if you use Add files - then yes it might fail for duplicate file name as you are trying to upload in same folder - a file with same name.

Hi @Tony_Yates ,

I did try the same workflow with a Vault 2024 update server - but I can checkin the file as expected.

Do you see this issue on all devices (if you have any other device - please the same workflow) and also may be uninstall app + reinstall to see if that helps ?

Hi @Tony_Yates ,

Only last thing I can suggest is trying the uninstall and reinstall of the app - if you haven't tried this.

Otherwise - please raise a case with product support as we will need some other means of investigation.

Hi Yogeshwar,

I have just tried uninstalling and reinstalled the app but still the same behavior.

Is it possible that its a setting somewhere?

Hi @Tony_Yates ,

Sorry to hear that hasn't helped either.

No there is no setting to control this.

I am assuming to 'CHECK IN' you will need to be logged in with an Autodesk Account that has either a Vault Pro or Vault Office license.
A view only login would only be able to view files.

This seems obvious to me, but I could be wrong.

I am logged in with an autodesk account that has a vault pro license and not set to read only.

Hi @Tony_Yates ,

We could get to the root cause of this issue. The issue is seen only when you are using a AutodeskID user account which is added as a user in Vault server.

As a workaround - please try using an AutodeskID account which is NOT added as a user in Vault for signin and use a Vault account to login to Vault.

We will look into this issue for addressing the same.

Yogeshwar
