Vault items getting assigned all model state drawings.

I'm using model states and items in Vault.  When assigning the item it correctly creates an item for each model state that has a different part number, but I also have a drawing for each model state and it is assigning all the drawings to every item.  Is there a way to only assign the drawing for the specific model state that the item is referencing?

Using Inventor 2022.5 and Vault Professional 2022.5 but we will be upgrading to 2024 soon.

Do you have a view in each drawing that goes across all model states?

No, each drawing has only one view referencing one of the model states.  Just for testing I put one view on a drawing set to the first model state.  Then I saved the drawing as a new file and set the view on the new drawing to the second model state.  Did this five times for each of my five model states, and when I use the assign item on the part file, it correctly creates items for the model states, but it shows the drawings for the other model states under associated files.  Is there something in the setup of the item creation that needs to enabled to only grab the drawing for the model state that the item is referencing?

Can you send me a sample dataset?

I got it to work.  My part file was getting parameters from another file and once I deleted the reference, the items get created with just one drawing per model state.  I'm guessing that since all model states were referencing the same file it was causing my issue.

Hi,

I am facing the same problem. For the test, I created an assembly with a bolt and a nut. I created two model states in the assembly—in one, the nut is suppressed, and in the other, the bolt is suppressed. Each model state has its own number and name. Each drawing has a view and BOM from correct model state. After assigning the items, items are correctly created for each model state separately. However, when you open the individual items, the associated files are also assigned in the files. Do you have a solution for this?

First item for model state 1:

Second item for model state 2:
