Vault Batch Plot only Prints 1 Copy Even Though 3 Copies Were Selected

I would really appreciate any input!

When I do a Batch Plot of a drawing based on its DWF file, Vault only prints 1 copy. Even if I select 3 copies in the Batch Plot window, I still get 1 copy.

As you can see in the images below, 3 copies were selected in the Batch Plot window, however the Plot Monitor shows 1 copy.

I tested this in two different environments, one in with Vault Pro 2018 and the other test was done in Vault Pro 2019. I also tried to use DWFx as the source for Plotting and it didn't make a difference.

If I do a Batch Plot without the use of a DWF as a source, everything works fine.

We have seen this issue reported to us in the past. However, we found that it was related to the printer drivers not accepting the print sizes being told to it by the Plot Manager. Have you tried using a different printer or verify that you have the latest print drivers?

Hi @ihayesjr and @reidmatthew

I tested with 2 different printers and different sheet sizes and ran into the same issue. This issue was initially reported to me by our client. Basically, you can consider them as a second test environment which is having the same problem.

This issue only exists when printing a drawing based its visualization (DWF) file. If I turn the option "Plot using visualization files" off, I can print 3 copies. For the same drawing file, same settings and with the same printer I cannot print more than 1 copy if I print based on the DWF file.

Below you can see snapshot of my Plot Monitor. Even though I selected 3 copies for my drawing, Plot Monitor is only going to print 1 copy. (the image below also shows that I used different printers and different sheet size)

I would really appreciate your help. Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks!

I recommend that you create a support case for the issue. Attach the DWF files you used along with the printer driver version information.

Hi @ShayaGhanbar Were you able to make any breakthroughs on this batch plotting issue? Was it related to the printers as @ihayesjr suggested? Are you able to attach the DWF files and printer information? Let me know if you made a support request and if you need any help on this.

@ShayaGhanbar Thanks for putting in the support case and your patience as we worked through it.

For others who may see this thread, I was able to reproduce the behavior. This is currently under investigation from the Vault development team for possible causes and resolutions. You can see the status of the investigation here:

Batch Plot number of copies is not accurate if using visualization files in Vault

I am going to mark this as a solution, so others know Autodesk is looking into this and by being marked as a solution, may be easier to find.
