Vault Basic vs Vault Pro

I'm currently looking to upgrade from Vault Basic 2023 to Vault Pro 2027, and due to a hard drive space requirement (80GB left on a 2TB drive), I'm looking to make a change sooner than later.

From what I understand, in order to migrate my current Vault Basic 2023 to a new server:

  1. I would have to have the server at Vault Basic 2025
  2. Migrate the existing files to the new server
  3. Then upgrade to Vault Basic 2027

If I want to go from Vault Basic 2023 to Vault Professional 2027, would I still need to migrate to a 2025 version of either Vault Basic or Vault Pro?

I'm trying to find a solution that would be most cost effective in the long run with the shortest amount of downtime.

Yes, regardless of whether you are going to Professional or not, you still need to go through Vault 2025 for migration to 2027.

The best and recommended approach is to try it out before rolling it out to production.

Thank you.

I know we want to merge 2 vaults into 1, but there is a 3rd party software that is causing a delay with 1 group being upgraded.

Will it be difficult to merge the older vault into the newer vault or would we just need to do the same migration project as the 1st vault?

There isn't a public utility for merging Vaults. You will need to contact your Autodesk Partner or Reseller to help with that.

Yeah, we've talked with one of our vendors before, and I figure we would have to bring them in at some point. Thank you!
