[Vault 2014 Basic] Pack and go files are read only

Hi all

When we use the "pack and go" system in the vault application, the files are "readonly" whatever if the parts in the vault are extracted or not.

We use the vault to manage our standard, but all our projects are managed outside the vault for many reasons I will not describe here.

Is there any workaround to avoid to have the files in readonly state after a pack and go via Vault ?

Hallo,

in the moment exists not an lifecycle status for "going or working outside".

You can configure a new lifecycle status. Set the Pack & Go files manuelly on this new status and create the Pack & Go also.

When you want this inside in one of the next Vault Versions, please add this in our Vault Idea Station. This is a very good product enhancement.

Thanks

I don't get your answer

What is the original behavior of the pack and go ? I mean why should I get the files in readonly state if I take out the files for another project ?

When I use pack and go in the project environnement (out of Vault) in Inventor, I don't have this behavior, all files are accessible for modifications.

If you package the files in a 'zip' file, then they are not read-only.

Seems to be the best workaround in fact, thank you !

I don't get why the "non zipped" package type is read only...
