Hello,
We have recently upgraded to inventor 11 and vault 5. Immediately we have noticed that you can now check out library parts from the vault browser in 11 (even though you cannot edit them once checked out). If we knowingly, or unknowingly check out library parts then anyone else who opens any assembly which contains those parts you get relative path errors and if you accept that leads you to a resolve link dialog box.
What I believe is happening is that when the Lib component is checked out inventor can no longer see that component in the library workspace.
Has anyone experienced this? What is the purpose of being able to check out lib components if you still cannot edit them? If you are not carefully opening up an assembly, you might click on check out all unknowingly creating problems for others.
any insight on this would be of great assistance.
Regards,
Rick
