Set Copy Design property values as custom value or with suffix

Greetings!

Is there an option to set Copy Design property values as some custom property or to add suffix to existing value?

We are using Vault 2020.3.7.

Best regards,

Rene Repina

No, you cannot set custom property values during Copy Design.

As a workaround I usually employ copy design rules that will wipe out a custom property clean (to blank), so the user can change that later on his own (using the property editor in Vault for multiple files at a time, most often).

The thing is that I would like to implement suffix to specific fields, so users still have a reference to original copied file and new one has some information that it was copied from it (variant). I could make it "Blank", but then they will have to search in some other way to find out from which it was copied (complicate things for users). And if I leave it as it is, users forget, leave them as they are and we have duplicates. Suffix would solve it all. ^^

It would also be great to change user display name, because currently we have users in domain, their usernames are not grammatical and we would have to change them if we would use "user" property override.
