Rename nested assembly in Autodesk Vault – include all subassemblies and parts automatically?

Hello everyone,

I would like to rename a nested assembly in Autodesk Vault. My goal is not only to rename the selected assembly, but also to include all related subassemblies and parts in the Rename Wizard so that they can be renamed as well.

Is there a way to automatically include all child files of the assembly structure in the Rename Wizard?
Or do all subassemblies and parts need to be added manually?

Alternatively, would using the Copy Design wizard be the better approach for this task?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Alex

Directly in the Rename wizard there is no option to auto-include child components.  You might consider raising enhancement request on Vault Ideas (see more about ideas boards on How to Post to the Idea Boards – Collaborate!)

You might try to multiselect child components in Uses tab and add needed files to Rename Wizard that way:

Copy Desing is rather not an option, unless you want to make a copy of original dataset but with new names.
