Procedure for reverting to older version of AutoCad file

i have an AutoCad file in vault. Revision 2 (edit state). i want to revert to revision 1 (released)

i removed the files from my local directory

i got the revision 1 file. then checked it out.

went to my local folder and un-checked the read only box on this file.

i opened the file from AutoCad and yes it is the right version.

Now.

How do i make this the current version?? i still plan to make changes  and save revision 2 again.

i am not able to check this file in.

i have tried several things. sometimes i get the message that 'files in the local directory are not the same as files in vault. N.S. I know that. That's what i am trying to do!!!!

ps. i am a contractor and likely dont have a lot of rights to the vault. i need a straightforward solution please.

If you had to uncheck "Read Only", then your check out was probably not active on this file.
Do these steps:
1- Delete local copy.
2- Download Rev 2.
3- Check Out file in Vault.
4- Go to the History tab in Vault and Get the Rev 1 version.
5- Open file using Windows Explorer (or AutoCAD), not Vault.
6- Check file in and release Rev 2 whenever you're done saving modifications.
