Parent filename prefix in parts?

Is there a way thru the Data Standard or iLogic (or anything) to include a parent file name automatically in a subcomponent?  If I have a parent assembly named 1111-01, can I automatically have that included in a part: 1111-01-01, 1111-01-02.  Any ideas or thoughts?

I am attempting to implement Data Standard in Vault 2016, and was curious if I can have this functionality via modifying the code with Visual Studio?

James,

From our discussion earlier, this functionality is curently not available through the Vault numbering scheme or the default Data Standard configuration. Try posting this question to the Vault Customization forum and seeing if the Inventor Support team can help you use iLogic rules to get the naming behavior you want. You could also look into the Data Standard documentation to make customizations yourself.

Good luck,

Matt

Just an idea here...has anyone looked at the Envisage UK (an AUtodesk reseller in the UK) iNumber app?  I am extremely hesitant on using third party apps for such an important funtion - call me a control freak, but I would like to have access to the programming and such for complete control.  Anyways, this is exactly what I am looking for with the file names.  This app will take frame generator parts and append the assembly name with the part names.  So there has to be a way to do this.  I will continue to look for alternatives, if I could reverse engineer what Mr. Dave Whitley has done with his iNumber add-in, I would try that...
