We are currently trying to assign Items to files in Vault. When we do, we are noticing the Multi-Level BOM of the Item does not show up. However, if we check out the Files, Save, Check them back in, Update the Item, then the Multi-Level BOM shows up. I feel like we are missing something simple. Is there a setting we are missing when we create the Item to show the Multi-Level BOM right away?
Edit: More Info. We are using Vault 2022.3.1 Both on the client install and the server. We are seeing the issue with our .iam files.
Thanks,
Nick

Can you share some screenshots of what you see when the BOM is not behaving as you would expect?

On the top menu, I see Mechanical Bill of Materials. Can you change that to All Items, and see if the BOM is then visible?

Yes, I see the same now. Sorry, I did not have the Item opened... I was just looking at Item Master. 🤔

@CGBenner I did find this info in my search the other day: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/vault-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...
I see the solution is what we found, Check Out the Assembly File, Save, Check In. Then Update the Item and the BOM shows. We have thousands of files we don't want to have to do that on. I did try to use the Migration utility from Task Scheduler, that did not help. Everything has already been migrated as well.
Can you think of any way to automate this task in Vault? If not then perhaps there is an Inventor iLogic solution to do the check out, save and check in.

There isn't a way to automate this in Vault, iLogic might work.
This issue tells me that the files were not originally uploaded properly in Vault, possible drag and drop, or the BOM in the assembly had a previous issue. That is why re-saving it in Inventor fixes the issue.
@genglerN
Based on that last reply from @ihayesjr, I suggest you post a question in the Inventor iLogic forum, outlining the task that you would like to try to automate. It's possible that someone in there could help you to write a rule that will help with at least part of this. Good luck!
