We are currently using Vault Basic 2020 and I am having some problems with the visualisation of my preview files. I have attached some images to show what is happening. The preview files don't always show up as you can see with the image below.
If i then go to a different file and come back to this file the preview shows up as in the image below. in this example i have made sure that the dwf file and the idw files are up to date. We have three workstations using the Vault and everyone is different is how and when it will let you view the preview file.
We also have the different issue of this scenario:
Is this because the dwf file and the idw files have different date?
The reason I need the preview files to be visible is that the MD wants to be able to look at the files from Vault and also be able to look at previous versions of the files. Opening the files in the external viewer doesn't allow him to see the previous versions.
Any help solving this problem would be appreciated. I have found lots of suggestions for solutions for Professional and Workgroup but unfortunately not for Basic. And yes we do have the latest updates installed for Vault, Autodesk and Design View

Hi Cheryl. What results do you get if you select the .dwf file instead if the .idw? Are you seeing the same inconsistencies?
