Incompatible Database Version

We are in the midst of upgrading from Vault Server 2022 to 2025 on our VM.

It should run off of SQL Server 2017 but is giving me the error attached: An incompatible database version was detected that cannot be migrated.  I have checked out the following article but the causes are not relevant.

Could our version of SQL Server 2017 (RTM-CU31-GDR) 14.0.3480.1 be missing updates or fixes that would make it incompatible with vault 2025 server?  Would installing a later version of SQL Server fix the problem?  I assume that I would not have to remove the MSSQL14.AUTODESKVAULT database instance?

Interesting. I will have to check, but the installation doesn't check for a specific SQL update. It should check that it is, at minimum, SQL 2017.

Thanks for the response.  I think I now have everything figured out. 

You cannot jump 3 versions of Vault Server so had to install version 2024 before 2025.  The message was referring to the version of the Vault databases, not the SQL version.  I find the upgrades rarely go smoothly.  This upgrade I had to deal with C++ library issues, reboot required readiness checks, registry edits, log file checks, etc.  I will say one big change that I noticed was the amount of knowledge base articles that help now vs a number of years ago.  If this article would have mentioned to not jump multiple versions that would have also helped me immensely:
