Question 1:
Vault File Server is used as part of a replicated Vault Server environment.
Do you plan to have your users access the Vaulted-data from several different geographic locations? Think users in the EU and in the USA working on the same Vault environment.
If so, you can set up the Vault system to have a master Vault Pro Server install on one continent and either a full replicated site with both a file store and the SQL databases or just the CAD files on another.
If you use mirror both the CAD files and the SQL databases, you are using full replication. In this case, the users in the EU will access the Vault Pro server installed on a EU-based machine and the USA users will access the Vault Pro server installed on a USA-based machine. Proper setup of the replication environment will keep both the file store and the databases in sync.
Vault File server is used when you only want to replicate the actual design files between sites. It does not replicate the SQL databases. In this case, users will have to access both the main Vault Pro Server and the closest Vault File Server install.

AutoCAD LT is a 2d drafting package.
The Vault Client software is what you need to communicate with the Vault server.
What design software do you plan to use?
Typically you will need to install the design software before the Vault Client. The Client scans your computer and installs various plug-ins and helper applications based on what you have installed. That way you will see a Vault ribbon tab in your design software and MS Office.

I highly recommend that you work with your Autodesk Partner or Reseller to understand Vault.
