How to Enable Vault thin client to view PDF files in a seperate tab instead of using the Forge Viewer

Hi Guys,

When we click the view option in Vault Thin Client to view a PDF file. The PDF should open as a seperate tab within the browser. Instead now it uses the Vault Forge Viewer within Thin Client to view the file. 

Is there a setting where we can set to View only the PDF files as a seperate tab rather than viewing it in Vault Thin Client Viewer ?

Check your system's default handler for PDF files.  I have Acrobat set as the default handler, and when I do as you show, my thin client opens in a new tab as you are requesting.  I was also able to verify when clicking the check box and choosing the eye icon to view the file.  Alternately, when I use the View tab, it does use the Viewer.  We are also on Vault 2024 and the latest update; you might want to look into that if you are not on the latest update.

Also, if you are in the view tab, use the Open in Browser button.

We tried the option you had mentioned as well. But still it opens the PDF in a new tab in the Forge Viewer, not in the default PDF browser viewer (but previously the PDF files viewed only in browser tab and not in Forge Viewer).

What version of Vault are you using?

Also, can you provide a video show the workflow and the results?
