Get Revision

Can anyone please help with an explanation of the functionality and the workflow for resolving this issue please.

I have this warning on a part which means 'Not the expected revision!', means I can't save, so I right click, Get Revision, no change, still not the expected revision.

Can someone explain what makes it the wrong revision and how I go about making it the correct revision so that I can edit and save.

The part file to the IPT is the old Revision. Have you tried getting the latest revision of that file?

Or open the IPT with no part. Save it and check it in.

It looks like you are trying to link an old revision of the parent to a new version of the child.

The key is the asterisk after the file name, which implies that the file is dirty (something has changed in the file and it has not been saved yet). The problem is that , in order to prevent data loss, when you try to get a file from the vault (as you are trying to do with the Get revision command) and Vault detects that your local file has been modified, it will not download anything. The only way to force it is by doing a GET from vault and marking the "force overwrite" option on the dropdown menu.

@jose_oltra, Thanks, but still doesn't work. The example I have has no asterisk and a 'Get' still doesn't remove the warning sign. As a result I can't set the drawing, assembly and part to Released in Vault.

Clean your workspace out.

In the Vault Client, perform a Get on the 535-21A Rope Drum.iam.

In the Get dialog, change the drop-down from latest to the Revision you are working on.

Open the IAM.

Does the status change?
