Hello,
One of our Vault users is having an issue when they perform a "Get Multiple Files" function. Once the function is invoked after a few momemnts (less than a minute usually) it will go into a state of "Not Responding" This does not happen for other people on the same network and has only started hapening on this machine recently.
Can you advise what I would check on the client machine to see what is causing this issue?
Hello,
there might be some corruption in the windows user profile.
At first of all I woud suggest to rename the Vault settings in the Vault roamaing section.
So this folder should be renamed:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault [Edition]2016
Edition=either Basic, Workgroup, Professional
I have the same issue. However, the folder is already named as you show. Any other ideas on what's causing this? It's a real pain.
I think what Kevin is saying is that you need to rename this folder... and then restart Vault. Some of the information in the folder may be corrupt and this will recreate the information that is in the folder.

Thanks. It seems to have worked but it was an intermittent problem so I hope it continues to work. Of course all the personal settings had to be reset after that.
This seemed to work for a couple days but now it's just back to the same.
Any further thoughts on this? This was not a solution. It's right back to where it was, which is pretty useless.
There is only one solution:
Go to your local disk and delete any folders you do not need, because they are in the Vault.
After your local disk is cleaned up your Get/Download from Vault should be faster.

Good Morning,
Could you check please, that the Vault 2016.0.5 Update was installed?
This solved also the issue with Performance a Get on an Inventor assembly
Cheers,

Yes, I think we do and I do think it is better recently. I'll try test it specifically again today and see. Thanks.
Elizabeth, I'm sorry to say it's not fixed at all. I've been waiting 10 minutes now for 300 MB of files which is way too slow to be reasonable especially when you have to download larger folders. If I open from within Inventor it is faster so there is some problem there that clearely isn't fixed yet.
Norbert, I'll try clearing the cache in the C: drive but I'm not sure why that would make any difference. Also, I don't want to do that on a regular basis because those are the files I'm working on and I'll just have to download them again.
It's not our network connection either because I can grab the same size of files from other network drives in seconds.
I've found that if our administrator "re-indexes" the drive on the server (whatever that is) it is much better for a while. Perhaps this should be automated or something (he seems to have to do it manually).
Hi Ikrenzler,
it´s not the cache files on drive C ...
Pls delete your content of your workspace!
The problem with Vault is, if there are to much folder in the download area the Vault check them all and this takes time.
We had the same problem, but since cleaning up our workspace you have very quick download 10.000 files with one click.
Pls try it out.
Norbert
Hello,
perhaps is on the workingstation with the performance issue the "User file history" to big.
Did you launch from time to time the "Microsoft Windows Disk Cleanup tool" ?
Best regards,
Elisabeth Böhm
No, it's not that, it's been cleaned regularely and has a solid state drive. Tested it on a brand new machine as well and no difference (still slow).
Every week it gets slower and slower until I have to call our IT guy to "re-index" and then it seems fine for a while. Something to do with that it seems.
did you also check, that the user has local admin permissions?
If so, then try to create a new Windows-User on this machine and try with (always local admin permissions).
Hallo,
please following the Vault article:
Autodesk Vault View Properties Grid need some minutes

"Workspace Synchronization" would be nice.... when I try it, I get .....access to path "D:\ System Volume Information" is denied. I am using Vault 2017.
