Design representation files getting Released on creation

Hello ,

                 Good day. We created dxf files from create dxf feature in vault pro 2024. dxf file created is getting a released state assigned and locked. we want thtme to have WIP state on creation and another team member edits the dxf file for his CNC preparation and then wants to release it. 

                       if we change the released state to WIP on dxf file, it bumps up revision and also extra step.

is there a way that the design rep category file gets WIP state on creation?

any help is greatly appreciated.

You will need to setup DXF files with it's own category and lifecycle definition with the WIP state set as default. 

The DXF file can still be in the Design Representation classification but have a different category.

we did check the category and the dxf files are attached to design rep category inturn attached to design rep life cycle with WIP state as default. it still gives released state when we use create dxf feature in vault pro.

               we need to have those dxf files with WIP state on creation (using create dxf feature) so we can edit the dxf file then release it.

Hi @nalinimohann ,

Is the source file for which you create DXF files - in released state ? 

If so, you need to turn off 'Sync Lifecycle state and Revision' option in DXF publish options. Besides this you also need to have the default state in 'Design Representation Process' as 'Work In Progress'.
