Copy Design 2016 part number issues

Ok, I have found a couple of threads on this but don't see an answer yet...  We are experiencing random failures of the part number not getting updated when we use the new copy design in Vault Pro 2016.  It worked on my computer but failed on a co-worker's.  We both have Vault Pro 2016 with update 1, both have the default rule set (which cant be modified), I don't understand.  How does this work on my computer but not his?  Please help with this, this is really causing issues with our BM's.

Hi James,

Do you get any errors when running the copy design on your coworkers computer? Do you only see the Part Numbers not updating?

Have you tried this solution from article - Vault Copy Design does not update Part Number with File Name

1. Check that the Rule Set " Default Rule Set" are exist with update the field Part Number and use the correct installed language

2. Check that the Rule Set " Default Rule Set" exist for all user and on all working stations.

     Repair the "Default Rule Set":
  • Create new Vault Tresor in Autodesk Data Management Console
  • Launch "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Professional YYYY\Explorer\CopyDesign.exe"
  • Logging in into the new Vault Tresor
  • Copy one file in the new Vault Tresor.
  • Logging out
  • Logging in into the real Vault Tresor
  • Now works the Copy Design with update the Part Number

3. The Files and the relationships are not up to date. The assembly replationship is corrupt.
  • Launch Inventor and open the main file about "Open from Vault"
  • When relationship files failed, then repair this relationship "open from Vault" or "Inventor file explorer"
  • Open again the file about "Open from Vault"
  • Save the file and checking in into Vault

4. Rename on the working station the folder %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Autodesk Copy Design 2016\

Thanks,
Jason

Yes, the co-worker has the Default Rule Set  and I can see on the right hand side where it sets part number to file name.  I have not tried the ADMS solution yet, have no idea what Vault Tresor is, have to go talk to IT for that...  The odd thing is that it works sometimes... I will post if I find any solutions.
