Hi,

i try to copy an inventor drawing file from vault without checking it out the drawing, assembly or the parts from vault, when i want to check the new drawing in vault it always gives me this error saying these parts are already in vault

i did not ask these parts to be checked out,

last question is it possible to copy an entire folder in vault without checking or check out?

Thanks

Hi, what version and variety (Basic or Pro) of Vault are you using?  Can you describe the workflow you have tried?

2- open from vault the drawing file, no check out drawing, assembly or parts

3- save as to a new file name

4- try to check in

With Vault Professional, the best method of doing what you want is to use Vault Copy Design.  You can do everything you need from within the Vault Client without opening or checking out anything.  It allows you to decide what to copy or reuse, what the new name should be, and where you want to copied files to live.  HERE is the Help document on Copy Design for Vault 2023 (I cannot find 2022 online, but if you search your in product help you may be able to find it).

Good luck.
