AutodeskDM virtual directory found on your website Default website

Hi,

I'm having some problems re-installing Autodesk Vault Basic Server 2020.  I am getting the pre-check error:

"AutodeskDM virtual directory found on your website Default website"

I have tried:

  • 'repair' and full re-install of vault.  Same error.
  • Full uninstall and of IIS and Vault and then re-install of IIS then Vault. Same error.
  • On the re-installed IIS I have checked that there's no Default Web Site>AutodeskDM virtual folder in the IIS Console before re-installing.  Also there isn't a physical folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS 2020\Server\Web. Same error.
  • I've installed Vault 2020 on a similar fresh machine and it works fine. (unfortunately I can't use this machine for production)

Can someone please tell me what is still lurking in there that makes the installer think that the AutodeskDM virtual directory still exists?

Thank you.

@Anonymous  Have you tried steps described over here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/vault-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/Vault-Install/files/GUID-C0952BE1-B6F6-48DD-90EB-F88B00FFE728-htm.html ?

I already see that you don't have Autodesk DM virtual directory in your IIS console, please disregard.

Hi Alex, yes. as you say, I can confirm that there are no AutodeskDM virtual folders in IIS.

I ended up rebuilding the OS on this machine to fix the issue.  (A bit drastic I know).  This (obviously) did the trick of removing whatever the installer thought was there allowing it to proceed.
