Adding Custom Library to Vault

We are using Inventor 2016 Pro and Vault 2015 basic.

I've downloaded a custom library from GrabCad for Unistrut.  It is a .idcl file.

I've done lots of searches but haven't come up with a definitive answer.

So the question is how do I add it to the Content Center on the Vault?

*.dcl file = Inventor Desktop Content.

Copy it to

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2016\Content Center\Libraries

and use in Inventor >Options > Content center  >Desktop Content

Dont miss to select the new desktop Content in your Project file

*.mdf = Vault Database /vault server based remote content

You have to upgrade to Vault 2016 first

then Transfer a library between Desktop Content and Server

Well that sucks.  LOL - Upgrade unlikely.

We do have a software reseller that supplies our tech support.  I guess we will have to get him to come by.

I cant believe that you are using

We are using Inventor 2016 Pro and Vault 2015 basic.

Perhaps you are still using the Vault 2015 basic client on your Workstation, but your Vault server is already migrated to Vault 2016 Server, otherwise no chance to access to Vault from Inventor 2016.

As I know, it's not possible to access Vault Server 2015 with Inventor 2016.

Hey, Correct!  Was going by what the IT department told me.  Perhaps I can do the "song and dance" to get it into the vault. LOL
