Add thumbnail picture to item

Hi all, does anybody know if it is possible to add a thumbnail to an Item?

I can copy but the option to paste or load is unavailable:

The Thumbnail is populated from the thumbnail of the primary file attached to the Item.

I can connect a picture file, it'll show up as thumbnail. I was just wondering is it possible to copy it directly onto the item? The paste option is there for some reason, isn't it?

No, you cannot paste a thumbnail into the item.

Sorry, I don't understand your question. What are you trying to get in or export from the Item?

we are export files to Dynamics 365 Business Central to day(PDF, DXF) .. but we want to a an picture of the  componemt /assembly as well to make it easy for none CAD users to see what the part look like .. and we want it so update automatik as we import it into the  Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hi Bt, If there's no thumbnail, the only way to add it is by linking a file to the item as primary link (eg inventor file or picture). 

If there's a thumbnail on the item you can get it to the clipboard by right clicking on the picture and copy.

(If you want to export more item thumbnails at once it is possible by programming the Vault api)
