Able to log into Vault Basic, but not Inventor

Hi all,

I've been searching for the past couple days to no avail. Hopefully someone here might have some ideas because I'm all out!

Basically, I'm able to log in to vault through the stand-alone Vault Basic 2016, but when I try to log in through inventor I get "Inventor 2016 Vault Addin could not find the Data Management Services on [server IP]."

Other users on the network are able to log in through Inventor with no issues.

Specs: Design Suite Premium on Windows 10 with ADMS 2016 installed on Windows Server 2012 Standard.

Attempted solutions so far:

Server side:
-Restart server.
-Verified all IIS services are running.

Client side:
-Cleared temp files
-Deleted AppData folders pertaining to Inventor and Vault
-Run repair on Inventor 2016
-Uninstalled and reinstalled Inventor 2016

------------------

Server Log anomalies, unsure if relevant:

Event Processing: The configured event handler failed to load: Autodesk.ECO.EmailNotification
Exception: Could not load file or assembly 'Connectivity.ProductStream' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Exception: Could not load file or assembly 'Connectivity.ProductStream' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

First try taking the add-in off then put it back on...

Add/remove programs > Vault Client > Change > Add or remove features > untick the Inventor add-in then OK, do it again and then tick it to re-install it.

Thanks for the idea, Neil. Seems to have no effect, unfortunately.

I removed the addin, restarted, then reinstalled, but I'm still getting the same error

Weird.

Are you using the server IP or name to connect?

Try pinging whatever it is you're using, what is the result? Try the FQDN also? i.e. servername.company.com

I've tried both the server name and local IP, either works connecting via the Standalone Vault Basic. I am able to ping the server, which is just on the local network

Found the culprit!

After banging my head against the wall for a couple days and on the phone with tech support for an hour, I *finally* checked through Windows Firewall and there, for some reason, was an exclusion for Inventor. No idea how it got there, but once it was removed, I'm back in business!
