Vault project explorer addon

Hello developer team,

regarding Autodesk Vault Professional and the usage of the project explorer in Vault Client I've to write a specification for an addon in a customer's environment.

My question to you:

Is there a possibility to edit the project explorer (folder structure on the left side) via API?

A customer wants to fade over the number (DisplayName) of folders with the title of the folder. We do not want to name the folders with the title because of the lenght of the value and special characters in the value of the title. Is the project  explorer opened for API or blocked?

Do I understand your requirement right rephrasing it: As a user, I liked hoovering the Vault Client folder tree while displaying a tooltip showing the folder's title property value?

Hallo Markus,

not quite...it should be not only a tooltip (box), it should be a overwritten displayname in the folder tree like in Inventor.

The name of the folder should remain!

Hi Dominik, I don't believe that you can do this in the existing browser. However, reviewing the VDF I am pretty sure that you can implement your custom VaultBrowserCtrl showing the custom name at runtime. The SDK samples include browser control implementations. I would not have additional samples in case you asked ;).

Hi Markus, thanks for your reply! That's enough - I only want to know if a customization with VDF is possible!
