Is it possible to connect Microsoft power apps to the vault sql server to pull metadata information? If not, is there a secondary way to populate power apps with that data?

thanks!

Hi Brett

As I understand it, to create a custom connector on Microsoft Power Platform requires a REST API

Vault doesn't have one - see https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-customization/is-there-any-existing-rest-api-to-connect-to-vaul... - so you would have to write your own

See also this on the Ideas Board - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-ideas/better-reporting-with-help-of-microsoft-powerbi-or-tablea...

And in particular this suggestion from @ihayesjr for a possible workaround - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-ideas/better-reporting-with-help-of-microsoft-powerbi-or-tablea...

The AU class it refers to is here - https://www.autodesk.com/autodesk-university/class/Dashboard-Smashboard-Vault-Reporting-Steroids-201...

Hope it helps

Nick

With Vault 2025.2, Autodesk introduced a new REST API that makes it easier to connect external tools like Power Automate Desktop to Vault. I’m currently working on two blog posts that explore this integration:
  1. How to add a job to the Vault job queue using Power Automate (link)
  2. How to report the number of checked-out files in a Vault using Power Automate (link)
You can find both posts on GitHub. Feedback is always welcome!

Hi Jelte

I've been meaning to do something like this for ages, so thank you for

  1. Reminding me to do it
  2. Rekindling my desire to do something
    and
  3. Doing the "grunt work, saving me a lot of time
