Setup of Solidworks Add-in for Vault Pro

Hello,

I am trying to setup Vault Pro 2016 with the Solidworks Add-in, for use with Solidworks 2015 SP 4.0.

I am having trouble updating the property mapping to add SolidWorksPropertyProvider (*.sldprt;*.sldasm;*.slddrw) to Thumbnail and Type properties, as described in Step 7 in the ReadMe file under "Vault add-in for SolidWorks".  It is not appearing as an option under Provider.  Any suggestions?

Also, do you recommend importing properties from vault or a source file (Step 9)?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

in general I prefer to use property import from Vault to set up mappings. This ensures, that property management on the server works properly. In your case - if the Solidworks property provider is not listed - I am quite sure, that the registration (installation) of the SolidWorks Server AddIn (ADMS extension) did not succeed. Would you mind to retry - and in case it does not work check the log files?

Thanks,

Markus

Hello,

From what you desribe it sounds like you may need to install the server add-in to get SolidWorks listed in the provider list. Once this is installed thumbnails should be automatically mapped.

You can find the server addin here:

Autodesk Vault SolidWorks add-in

Please let us know if this helps.
