Problem with the data standard dialog in AutoCAD

I am in need of help getting the vault data standard set up in Vault Professional 2020.  I have installed the data standard and I have configured a file category in vault to have a Title property assigned to that category, as well as making that property require a value.  Within the vault full client, if I create a standard file and chose an AutoCAD files, I see the Title property in the dialog and the value field is bordered in red to indicate it is required.  If I open AutoCAD and save a new drawing, I see the data standard dialog displayed, but the Title property is not shown.  Testing this in Inventor, we see the correct dialogs in both cases.  Is there a way to correct the dialog in AutoCAD to display the right properties?

Thank you,

Mark Cloyed

VDS for AutoCAD requires a mapping. The Data Standard Tutorial for AutoCAD, Exercise 3 instructs step by step how to achieve it for Title, Description, and Part Number properties. Follow the video or PDF Documentation available here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/simplecontent/content/vault-data-standard-tutorial...

I hope this helps.

Hi Marcus,

Thank you for the response and the links.  I did get things working.  As per the exercises, I copied the Acad-vanilla files to the CAD.Custom\Customization folder, renamed them without the '-vanilla'.  I then created a mapping between the Title vault file property and the file drawing property.  Reopening AutoCAD and saving a file, I now see the Title field in the Data Standard dialog.  It appears to only respect mappings to drawing properties and not attributes in titleblocks.  I will discuss with the client.

Thanks,
Mark

You followed the exercise for drawing properties. You can also configure attributes in title blocks. The key for this is that the name of the drawing property = attribute name. See the same chapter 04, exercise 2 of the tutorial, and follow the instructions to configure block attribute mapping. Don't forget to replace the renamed vanilla files with the originals as these are prepared for the attribute mapping.
