Data standard - Skipforproperties element

Hi,

To avoid the Data standard -dialog to show up while creating new profile parts from the content center (Inventor) I'm using the SkipForProperties -element as described in this Help article:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/VAULT/2014/ENU/?guid=GUID-CC60832A-0802-45B7-9DAD-8B2900058690

However, using this element also includes the skip of the Vault filenaming scheme, so a default naming scheme according the Family Table of the Content Center is used, instead of the Vault naming scheme.

How can I configure that the Vault naming scheme can be used without showing the Data Standard property dialog?

Thanks!

Danny

Hi Danny, if I get you right, then you like to suppress the VDS dialog for certain type of components and you like to have the standard Vault numbering scheme dialog instead, right?

the selective suppression of the VDS dialog works either by file extension or property name, and you have been already successful with the property name. However, my understanding is that as soon VDS is in the game, the standard Vault numbering dialog is switched off. I do need to double check with product management and development if this is by design or just have not been foreseen as a possible scenario, but from what i can tell at the moment, I guess that what you are looking for is not possible.

let me check and i'll get back on this.

ciao

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your reply.

The described workflow only applies to custom generated files from the Content Center. Standard parts from the Content Center have predefined filenames. The custom generated parts (mostly steel profiles, cables and hoses) are unique files but provided with standard properties. There is no need to show the property dialog for these files, but the filename must be created by the Vault filenaming scheme.

When the VDS is disabled it all works fine....

Looking forward to your findings from your product and development team.

Hi Marco,

I was wondering if you already have a solution?
