Lock old released items

Lock old released items

While I was dealing with the CR issue, I noticed that it is possible to continue editing old releases and to release them again.
For example:
Latest release AE-00
AA-00 can be edited with a new version and then released again using CR, whereupon AF-00 is created.

This process should not be possible in this way, as an old release should be blocked to ensure security and structure, as supply chains etc. are also linked to it

Editing and releasing an old revision is how you roll back to an earlier rev (which then becomes a subsequent 'latest' rev). This is intended and necessary functionality.

Hi @benito_vogel,

As @imckenzieY7CGY mentioned, the current behaviour is to allow roll back of earlier revision. Is that a specific industry requirement? Can you elaborate why its critical to lock old released items? How will that be used after its the old released item is locked?
