Item should be in a project before being added to CR

Current functionality allows users to add items to CR, despite those items not being under any project. Permissions to items are set by the projects in which those items are used.

So this idea is to make sure that no item gets added to CR unless it is found in atleast one project.

Dear @smaddukuri2KE8C,

Thank you for submitting an idea on Upchain Idea Forum.

In the Upchain system, the Tenant Administrator has two options:

  1. When releasing an Item using a CR process Item MUST be on the project
  2. Users can release floating Items (Items with no project relationship) in the context of any project.

This functionality is toggled by tenant property: create.cr.skip.verification.is.item.on.project

and it can be enabled or disabled by your Tenant Administrator.

Does this solve your use case when you do not want to add floating Items to a CR under a project where they are not located?

Best regards!

Tomislav
