the Excel addin has a very limited Usability currently. allowing the user only to create items and BOMs with items in Development status.
the following would create a great benefit for the users.
- The Excel addin should identify existing Items in Upchain if the users adds the item number in the correct mapped column. “this is already the case”
- The Excel addin should should distinguish between existing Items, “ where the user adds an item number in the column” and non-existing/new items. “ where the user added Item-Name., item-type etc.”
- only new items should be created by the part.
- Existing item properties should adhere to the item Status.
- Released Items will not be changed but only the BOM Position, Structure Quantity and BOM relevant properties should be modified and added.
- Items in Development could be changed if the value differs from the DB.
- Non-Existing Parts should be created and added to the BOM, as the function does now.
this functionality would enable users to create BOM structures by pulling data from Upchain.
