Windows 11 plugin support

Hi,

We're considering to subscribe to Upchain to use it together with Inventor and AutoCad 2024/2025 versions, and possibly also the latest Office applications.

Is it true that Windows 11 is not properly supported for these plugins, depending on which CPU you have? I just discovered this on the forum and in the help documentation...: https://help.autodesk.com/view/UPCHN/ENU/?guid=UC_GettingStarted_gs_support_gs_upchain_support_html

I hope the help documentation is not updated, but if this is still the case, when can we expect full W11 compatibility?

Have anyone used the Inventor plugin on machines running AMD processors and W11 successfully?

Hi there, thanks for reaching out!

Currently, there are no plans to support Windows 11. I think this is a great suggestion to post on our Ideas Board.

If you would like to post it there I'm sure it will help to expedite support here.

Please let us know if theres anything else you need help with.

Kind regards

Ryan

Ryan,

Are you serious?

In less than a year Microsoft will end official support for Windows 10 and they recommend everyone to move to Windows 11. We and many other businesses have done that transition already, and new computers ship with W11 installed. Staying on W10 will be a security risk.

If you don't plan for fully supporting W11 that tells me that Upchain is not getting the attention and focus it needs, and that Autodesk is putting development effort elsewhere. Or perhaps it will it be discontinued?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We were seriously considering getting Upchain, but now that seems to not be an option.

Then we need to look for a different cloud based PDM solution for Inventor and AutoCad. Any suggestions?

@ryan.solomonUP7UF and @catBUN5M keep in mind that it is just the Office plug in which isn't supported on Win 11.

"All CAD plugins are supported on Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 (Intel only)."

But why Intel Only?

But why no support for Win 11 for the Office plugin? (It's working perfect on my computer)

@ryan.solomonUP7UFand @emily.caulfield;

Do you have any further response to this? Is the answer from Ryan above the official Autodesk statement that W11 is not planned to be fully supported? We want to go for Upchain, but we cannot do that if it will not work for us today or in the near future. We're in the market for a cloud-based PDM solution today.
