Frame Generator in Inventor Crashing when Upchain Plug-in is enabled.

Hi All,

I went through AutoDesk support for this and we couldnt find out how my Frame Generator crashes when Upchain plug-in is enabled.

Basically in my add in settings, i only have content center, frame generator and Upchain enabled. 

Anytime I run Inventor, open an assembly (just has 1 part with the sketch in it) , click "Insert Frame"... Inventor than crashes. 

I did try...

1) reinstalling Upchain CAD plug-in, making sure its the latest ersion

2) Fresh re-install of Inventor 2022

3) Create a new Assembly file with a new part and sketch in it.

4) Disabling Upchain add-in -> frame generator now works.

Does anyone else experience this? And does anyone have any suggestions of what might cause this?

Thanks for reporting the issue.

I have Inventor Professional 2022.3 (Build 350) and Upchain add-in (Version 22.3.3.4444) on my Windows 10 laptop. I tried your add-in settings and workflow but did not see the crash issue.

Did you see the customer error report dialog when Inventor crashed, and send out the report?

Did other workflow crash Inventor? For example, create a hole?

Thanks for reporting this issue. Since I am not able to reproduce this crash on my machine, I am wondering to know more about these crashes:
1. Which versions of Inventor 2022 are you using, the RTM version or any updates?
2. Were there any reports when you met the Inventor crashes? If there were any reports already being sent, could you give us some hints to find these reports, such as the email account in the crash report dialog?

My upchain is 22.3.1.4394...
Looks like i should update again

EDIT:

Updated to latest Upchain plug-in, still experienced the crash after insert frame command.

Also no other commands crash Inventor. I can still insert shaft, use hole command, etc...

I can see your crash report in our system. I track it as an internal bug and ask development team to take a look. I will update you later or maybe ask for more information.

Thank you all for your report.
I got an update from development team that the root cause of these crashes had been figured out and the fix will be delivered in future releases.
