Hi, When trying to create item from an new Inventor iam containgi assemblies and parts with stp files I'm getting the following error. (see attached screenshot.)
Procedure:
1. Open Iam from pack'n go without errors, no missing files etc.
2. Update Cbom in the project
3. Right clikk the top assy.
4. Select Create item
5. Error message appears "Your assemby has missing files"
Listing "file names".ipt whish should have been "file names".stp.

Hi hcfoss, when using the CAD plugin with a CAD program, such as Inventor, it can only handle the CAD program's native CAD files. So for Inventor, that would be .iam and .ipt (as well as its drawings). As you've said, once you converted the step files to one of these file types, the registration worked. So, one option is to convert all step files to either .ipt or .iam. Alternatively, you can use the Generic plugin to register the step files to items. Hope that helps.

Hi Emily, do you know if there are any plans for handling referenced stp files in Upchain?
@HansChristianFossum it is a gap with Upchain currently, and unfortunately I don't have any info on when this might be supported.
