An assembly (a gearbox) was created, using the design assistant in Inventor to create some components of this assembly. This assembly is now to be registered in Upchain. When updating the cBOM, the error message shown in the screenshots appears:
"Duplicate Files:
Your assembly contains files with the same filename and filetype that already exist in Upchain. Rename the following files to add them to Upchain."
Within the Upchain database, other assemblies were also created and registered using the design assistant, which are identical in designation but differ in execution. However, these receive a unique part number upon registration, so the reason for this error message is not clear to me.
When an assembly or a component is created with the design assistant, a phantom assembly is created in Inventor in which the desired component is placed. The structure can also be seen in the following image.
The following has already been tested:
Is there a way to eliminate this problem and register the assembly as well as the associated subassemblies and components?
Hi andre.roell, apologies for not responding sooner. I'm not super familiar with the design assistant tools in Inventor. But is it possible that the parent assembly was still retaining references to the unregistered affected sub-assembly? This is sort of what it sounds like since you were able to register the affected sub-assemblies individually, but were faced with the error once you went back to register the top assembly. Does the assembly have a drawing that might still hold a reference to the affected sub-assembly? A couple other things to check:
If you are still facing issues, then I recommend submitting a support ticket.
