Wokeism >> Performance

Why does Inventor always crash randomly until patch XXXX.3 is released? I've used this software since 2014, so please, spare telling me that's not the statistics. Furthermore, this is also statistically true because patches rarely surpass XXXX.3, if ever, since I've used Inventor.

Why has wokeism taken precedence over stability? Shame on whoever pushed the changing of Master View to Primary View instead of focusing on software that doesn't crash unless 3 patches are released first.

What specifically do you mean by 'wokeism' in Inventor?

Or why have an Ideas Forum when it takes 7 years to implement something super basic?

Well, I still don't get it, being from an older generation where 'wokeism' wasn't a thing.

Maybe you will be so kind as to explain it to me.

Easiest way I can think of how to explain the concept is virtue signaling (social peacocking to gain social approval from people the peacock sees as important, but have malice in their intent instead) appears to be more important than coding software that doesn't crash.

The same treatment has happened in the real estate industry when it comes to the phrase master bedroom.

And because the world is what it is today, now I have to state, "This does not mean I'm against progress for humanity, I simply think we're being tricked sometimes, and that efforts can be focused better."

If things are "so basic" then why don't you write add-ins and sell them to make money if its easy?

I don't know what does an admittedly fair complaint about the stability of the software has to do with wokeism.

Like, how long do you think it takes them to change a term vs working on the software itself and its stability? One thing has literally no relation with the other but complaining about it reveals a lot about yourself as a person.

Some people really say woke with a hard r, huh?

If I understand you correctly, then I have to agree. I've been using Autodesk products since the late 80's and can say for sure that I've seen the same trend for AutoCAD and Inventor. Autodesk adds trinkets to entice new buyers. They neglect the more important functions that production design-drafters want and need b/c it costs too much and detracts from selling seats. In the end, everything comes down to INVESTOR PROFITS. This is a gigantic subject that would expose corruption at all levels of government and corporate business.

I'm not saying "basic" as in it's only going to take two lines of code to implement, I meant basic as in a function that every other CAD software already has. I'm trying to teaching myself how to code for fun so I understand how insanely hard and time consuming it is. Programmers have and always will have 100% of my respect, I know I wouldn't last a day in their shoes. My post was not directed to anyone in particular but more towards Autodesk as a company.

Anyway, there's a top voted post on the Idea's forum about Spell Check you should take a look at, it was quite an entertaining read. Here's a link to it if you are interested,

I'm guessing the word "MASTER" is a sensitive word to some elitist, thinking they can change anything.

I've done clock repairs in the past and heard complaints about the terms of Master & Slave clocks, such as the school classrooms or factories wall clocks (Slave) which gets a pulse from the main hub (Master) (usually in the main office) for the minute hand advancements.

Why does Inventor always crash randomly until patch XXXX.3 is released?

@janelson33
Why don't you reporting crashes?
Why do you send crash reports with bunch of vulgarisms instead of steps to reproduce crash?
Why don't you try to reproduce crash and find crash workflow?
Why don't you attend alpha\beta testing to provide more feedback to Inventor team?
Why are you too lazy to create simplified dataset for reproducing problem? (In our modeling team we do that, becasue we cannot send licenced models to autodesk, but often simplified, not licenced model is enough to reproduce problem.)
Why don't you voting for features in idea station?
Why do you think other CAD softwares are not suffering by the same crashing problem? (Because they do.)
Why do you think everybody is perfect and cannot do mistake? Programers are people like you - doing mistakes like you.

Pretty far off topic for the Inventor support forum...

I guess if the possible presence at AU of different types of human beings is triggering for you it's probably best to stay home.

Hi @marcelmacuf,

Many thanks for sharing your feedback! But you are making a lot of general and unspecific comments. There isn't anything actionable. If possible, please share the specific issue. I would like to understand it better and see how we can improve.

Thanks again!

@johnsonshiue I read @marcelmacuf 's post as taking issue with the OP's non-specific Inventor/Autodesk complaints.  The first line is quoting from the first post in the topic.

Hmm... it seems we don't see things the same way in that regard.  In this forum, though, we can be allies in improving Inventor and helping other users figure out how to use it to their best advantage.
