Hello all,
This might not be the place for this question, but any moderators reading this can surely move it to the correct place.
But i have a question.
I am a big fan of the autodesk forums and strive to behave like a good user. But your community account is directly connected to your real autodesk account, the same one linked to your products.
So i am wondering, if your account got banned from the forums, will this result in also having a ban on the use of your products?
I dont see myself getting banned so easily, but my account has for thousends of euro's of licencing on it and many jobs depend on it. And i find it quite risky having that all banned/ thrown away if i maybe one day i accidentaly break a community guideline.
Hope someone can give clarity on this.
Have a good day, everyone.

Your experiences in these forums are never tied to your purchase and use Autodesk software. They have nothing to do with each other.

Hi @n_maasdijk ,
Thanks for asking, and thanks to @pendean for bringing this to my attention! 🙂
First, I am happy to hear you are a fan of the Autodesk Community discussion forums and will not go against the ground rules! 😉
Second, and to answer your question, all accounts are linked through Single Sign On (if activated by the company) or, as you said, connected to the ADSK account. If, for whatever reason, you get a ban on the community, it would only impact you with access to the Autodesk community, not the ADSK account, etc. Also, to get a permanent ban, you really must go through multiple violations as we always try to connect with the people, reason with them, and educate violators usually, so one violation would not necessarily, by default, run into a ban (besides, they are extreme and we have zero tolerance against them, e.g., racism, hate speech, etc. as outlined in the ground rules. )
The beauty is still that even with the accounts being connected, e.g., a ban can be issued on the community platform without impairing the main account through this ban and the access to services and subscriptions, as @pendean lined out.
I hope that provided a bit of clarity on how it works in case there is a ban issued. 🙂
Let me know if that helped @n_maasdijk !

Hi @Tarek_K
Thanks for your clear and detailed explanation!
Now it is totally clear to me.
I will always try to follow the rules to the best of my knowledge.
But i found it quite a gamble if there would be a chance, however small, that because of my errors on a forum many people's jobs would be at risk. But glad you cleared up that will never be the case!
Have a good day!
