I am also a Student Ambassador however Expert elite is something else, it's an elite group of people who actively and readily support and inspire the Autodesk community both on the forum and in the real world, it is not something taken lightly. Just because you are a Student Ambassor doesnt immediately entitle you to Expert Elite however can help as it a supporting criteria.

You can find out more here. But @leowarren34 is correct in his assessment there is a major difference in the two programs

A couple of things to keep in mind and if you read the links the DA has provided, you probably already know by now, but just in case.

* You'll need to be active here on the boards, very active. Contribute and help users solve their issues and not just a bunch of easy, low hanging fruit types.

* Someone, typically a EE will have to nominate you

* Once selected as an EE, you'll need to stay just as active if not more, as your status will be evaluated each year and if you do not hold up, you will be dropped

That is true in most cases, but is not a requirement. There are some EEs that rarely if ever post in the Autodesk forums.

Yes, I understand they may not post much here, but they typically have blogs, youtube channels, etc that can and will make up for such. Posting here I feel is the easiest of those options. I keep saying I'm going to create a blog and YT channel, but just haven't gotten around to it....too many other life happenings. But either way, the rule is you need to be active and stay active in the community, however you can.

What Jim said...

I would give that a "like" but they are turned off here in the break room.

Staying active is key, as @Anonymous said it's also time and EE is a great test of deication as those who are give 100% and get the respect they deserve, hopefully in the summer I will begin a CAD series for Inventor as I'll have a summer free which will allow me to get the ball rolling, I want to join but I'm yet to prove myself.

Heeeey, Jim. If you ever have an article or video you'd just love to share, I'm happy to take guest bloggers.

@Mistress0fTheDorkness - For some unexplained reason there is no way to "like" your post, so here you go, an unofficial one.

They were never abused in this board.

They were never turned on in this board due to the potential of ranking abuse

lol, probably AUGI.

I was the highest ranked member there by rep for awhile, though I was not a top poster in the technical forums, but, one of the most prolific in the off-topic forum lol.

Hmm, my ex husband was the forum admin at that time and the #1 poster... maybe he just changed it because I was more popular than him? 😜

I do think turning off post count and rep tools in the non-technical forums is only fair. We're here for nerd cred, not popularity (god, I'd get a wedgie for saying this back in school... lol).

I understand the thinking behind that, but (a) having the "like" button available in all forums is nice so you can acknowledge a reply without having to make another post to clog up the thread, and (b) anyone whose purpose here is to feel good about the number of "likes" they get..... well.... we should just probably let them feel good about that. Smiley Frustrated
