So this post is just more for fun at this point than anything, but today I decided to "play along". In the past week I've received 3 texts about doing remote CAD work, each paying between $2500-$4000 per week to head a South American company looking to start doing construction in the US, here's the latest one:
I was just texted out of the blue 1 hour ago:
When I ask about the details they say they'd like to discuss that on a meeting using Skype... lol... skype, is that even still around?
Then I ask them what CAD software they are using for design work... is it Cinema 4D or Davinci Fusion (neither of which is a CAD software), and of course they say they use both, but will discuss in more detail on the interview call (using Skype)
Then I tell them that I don't want to waste their time and that I am very familiar with the new "Structural Steel" plugin for running steel members in Davinci Fusion, or are they doing steel runs the traditional way with using Cinema 4D?... and of course they say the traditional way using Cinema 4D.
then I asked them if they'd be using the Adobe EXR drawing format for all finished drawing package or just the standard Cinema 4D drawings, and that I've been using the EXR format the last few years and it works great with the Adobe Vault... his response, "Oh great, your training supervisor will put you through all of that."?
Then came the invite to join a Teams meeting, (not a skype call)... the teams email was not the corporations name email, it was just a gmail... seems sketchy
