Oce Colorwave Plotter?

Any opinions on this type of plotter, scanner, copier. Our old Colorwave 300 has problems with correct paper sizing, and lots of printhead errors. Should we try the a new OCE Colorwave? Or are we a gluten for punishment?

Thanks,

Todd

Hi Todd,

we have a OCE CW550 and 650 in use and they doing their job well. Great for mass paper production. I don't like the waxball-toner system that much, so if you going for quality plots you´ll getting better results on a Designjet ...

Best regards

Daniel

I'm not too familiar with them. We use them at my current firm. I'm not a fan of them because I have always used KIP plotters. I found that using pc3/pmp files with the KIP HDI driver gave me the desired results. But as I stated before, i'm new to OCE plotters. I'm currently battling with a PW-500 at the moment trying to get it to not cut off the edge of the drawings. It seems like its not as simple as saying "plot this drawing to extents, to this paper size with these margins, and choose 24" or 36" paper based on the paper size. "

We have a Colorwave 650 here (we've had it for a bunch of years now). It does well for what we use it for, but we don't use it for our high-volume printing. We have a b/w OCE 750 for that. The 650 gives nice color prints, but that's really all we use it for. Nothing high-volume. And heaven forbid you forget to empty the waste-"paintball" tray. Major damage can occur.  (yeah, this happened here over the summer)
