Tandem Funamentals - Rooms, Levels, Spaces

I'm having a good time testing out Tandem for use with our Plant digital twins, but unfortunately the user interface is much too focused on building assets. The right side panel shows filter groupings for Sources, Levels, Rooms, Spaces, etc and these are not relevant or useful for plants. Even worse, it looks like these groupings are specifically designed to interact with Revit models exclusively, and changing how they behave is not possible.

Is it possible to configure the filter groupings to correspond to different class properties, like PlantArea, PlantUnit, FluidCode, HazardClassification and other high level plant groupings? Even better, I would like to leverage the CFIHOS standard as a basis for a new classification template. Can anyone help me better understand the relationship of the default UI groupings to the models being referenced and how to change them?

Hi @OwenWhitehouse_ASTI ,

Have you tried Editing the Filters, making sure Classification is listed as an option, and then moving it up in the list? The ordering of the filters does make a difference, as it prioritizes filtering from the top down.

@jessica_smith That is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! Kudos to you and the team, this platform just keeps getting better.

Is it possible to edit the location-based categories? Location is a big part of plant but we use different terminology, like Area, Unit, Hazop Classification, etc.

Hi @OwenWhitehouse_ASTI ,

If I'm understanding you correctly, the room categories are in the authoring model. I would recommend creating a parameter titled " Room Category" in Tandem and assigning it to a class or classes in the facility template being utilized by the facility. Next navigate back to the facility, and update the template in the Assets tab. There should be a banner displayed notifying you that an update is available.

You should see the option for parameter mapping in the Assets tab. Find the newly created parameter in the list, search for the corresponding parameter in the authoring model, and select it. This should auto-populate that information for you. You can learn more about this workflow here.

If that doesn't answer your question, please let me know
