Love Streams as much as we do? Autodesk Tandem just added support for a new workflow to map Streams to their Hosts in bulk. Follow the steps below.

  1. Filter the view to the elements or spaces that will host your Streams.

In this image, we filtered the view so the inventory only includes the doors, as that will be the hosts for the Streams.

  2. Open the Inventory Panel and then Export to .xlsx file type.

  3. Click +Create on the Streams Tab for the facility and select the Batch Create tab.

  4. Next, click on template file in the Create Connections dialogue box to download the template file.

  5. Open the template file (from step 4) and the inventory export (from step 2). In both files, the last two columns are utilized in this workflow. Their column headers correspond to the yellow  highlighted areas in the picture below.

  6. From the inventory export, copy the values from the columns noted in Step 5, and paste them into the Template File.

  7. In the Template File, fill in the Name column; this is required.
Users can fill in the other two columns if desired, but it is not required to upload.

  8. Export or save the Template file in step 7 as a CSV.

  9. Navigate back to the Batch Create tab in Tandem, Import the file from step 8, and click Create.

And voila! Check out all the newly created Streams and their hosts via the Properties panel for the Stream or toggle the Streams panel by Host.
