Issue with Room assignment

Hi there! After I've uploaded models into Tandem I've noticed that all of them are set to "Undefined" in the "Rooms" parameter, despite it's been compilated within Revit. How can I fix this issue? I want to correlate each asset to the room they're placed.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Marcello,

Thanks for reaching out. If possible, could you provide some screenshots depicting how the rooms are set up, such as a room schedule and what you see in Tandem? For the room schedule, if you could include, at a minimum, the space/room name and type in the room schedule, that’d be helpful.

Hi Jessica,

Sure! On the left is depicted a snapshot of Revit, "Room name" and "Room type" are project parameters that I've set for you (I have the italian version of the software). Actually there are four models in Tandem (the snapshot is referred to ARC_0000_2020.rvt the architectural model), as you can see in "Source file", all them, except STR_0000_2020.rvt have rooms or spaces set.

Hi, I don't know whether the issue is still open, but I just wanted to mention that I'm in the same situation. Rooms are placed in all of our building models, but they show up in none of them in Tandem - instead, it just says "unassigned", exactly like in Marcello's example.

Hi Niklas,

Thanks for posting! Yes, this is still open. If you can send me screenshots like those I outlined in my previous reply, I can include them in the open case.

Hi Jessica,

Thank you. I have included screenshots of our room schedule in Revit 2021. We use the German version of Revit, but you'll still be able to tell that every room is correctly placed, as indicated by various measurements (please note that for confidentiality  I have drawn a red shape over the 'names' column).

Importing the model into Tandem, however, only shows "unassigned" as the only option for spaces.

Hi All,

The fix for this has been pushed to production. For anyone who has spaces coming into Tandem as “unassigned,” reupload your models to Tandem to re-run the room assignment. If the problem persists, ensure that the models uploaded to Tandem contain the room definitions.

Hi Jessica,

I am not sure this topic is still open or not but even after reuploading the model i can not see room in my model. See attached screenshot for your reference.

Thank You!

Hi Jessica,

I have the same issue here. I uploaded the model multiple times, but the rooms didn't appear. I also noticed that they are not present in the "Revit Categories" when I try to look at the "Inventory". Please advise.

Thanks!
