In a building where custom-made furniture such as chairs and tables are moved over time, it becomes difficult to keep such loose items updated in a digital twin. I would like to see a solution where, based on a product number, one could easily locate this product in Tandem. A QR code on the physical object could link to a URL in Tandem, allowing the correct object to appear via a phone for easy access to maintenance datasheets. Alternatively, users could search for a unique code found on the object. However, the need to access relevant documentation for users of the digital twin is, in my opinion, a useful feature. Does anyone envision a solution with the current version of Tandem, or would the program need further development to address this situation?
Hi @Magnus.svensen !
We've received this question several times, and we currently do not have the functionality to support this.
This additional use case and example of how the functionality could be utilized is very helpful! Thank you!
In a building where operational personnel need quick access to information about objects, such as datasheets, operational parameters, historical stream info like quantity, temperature, etc., I believe there is a significant need for a solution where operational personnel can obtain this information by scanning a QR code, NFC, or equivalent. Some use cases:
We are currently working with a customer who delivers designer furniture to restaurants at various destinations around Norway. They struggle with chairs and tables that are moved around the building, which look identical but have properties that a user cannot explain. When the customer needs maintenance, they face many unnecessary long trips where they have brought the wrong material for the chair, or other errors occur.
In all larger buildings, we are accustomed to equipment and components being marked with a unique ID on the product in the building. This can be VAV dampers, pumps, etc. By marking these with a unique code that is reflected in the digital twin, Tandem will be light-years ahead of competitors in managing buildings. I believe it is a crucial function to easily access this information in Tandem, and I think this can be solved via property cards. If we can also define a unique code here that will display the property card on a phone or PAD, the solution should then zoom in and focus on the object. The property card must also display relevant documents associated with the object.
